Trail mix is perfect for a camping trip. A great snacking food for having by the fire, or while hiking, trail mix is a healthy and energizing food that all campers should pack. The perfect combinations of trail mix often consist of various nuts, dried fruits, seeds, and other ingredients.
One of our favourite trail mixes is one that we call the Crazy Coconut trail mix. This is an extremely easy trail mix to make and it is a very healthy alternative to many other camping snacks. It is also absolutely delicious!
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened coconut shavings
- 1 cup salted or unsalted roasted almonds
- 1 cup dates
- Optional: 1 cup of chocolate chips
Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.
Store trail mix in resealable plastic bag or mason jar.
Will keep for at least 1 month. Enjoy on your next camping trip! This recipe should serve about 2-3 people so if you are packing this snack for a larger group add more of each ingredient as you like.
